Lessons

Thanks for looking into studying with me! I have very few spots available so reach out soon if you’re considering and if we can’t find a time that works, I’ll happily put you on a wait list! My retention rate is very high but you can usually count on a spot freeing up every few months as students age out or just have life happen.

I have been teaching for over 10 years—with students from age 5 to 80— and bring a unique blend of stylistic, academic, and performance experience. With my formative years being all about metal and jazz and my twenties being in college to get my Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and finally Master’s degrees I feel confident I can teach you anything you want to know from the very beginning of the instrument to highly complex rhythms, harmony, and technique. I place high value on being able to make sense of the basics of rhythm and standard notation but also know nothing is more important than you actually wanting to pick up the instrument and try to always include a project with your input and guidance in our work.

Lessons are prepaid one month at a time and are available in 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions. I currently teach in Multnomah Village under the very awesome Parrot Dice guitar shop, but am also available for online lessons. Pricing is as follows:

$150/month for 30 minute lessons

$180/month for 45 minute lessons

$200/month for 60 minute lessons

I do offer reduced rates for lower income students, please inquire through email.

New students also get a free bag of coffee from our family business www.highstrungcoffee.com!
